The School Funding Election’s impact on our students & teachers.
Provide the teacher salaries needed to keep & attract experienced educators.
Whitehouse ISD's talented and dedicated teachers and support staff are among the best in the state. If approved by voters, the School Funding Election will allow for competitive salaries that will help the district recruit and retain the quality educators needed to ensure our students continue to excel inside and outside the classroom.
Maintain small class sizes that allow for more one-on-one attention between students & teachers.
Competition for classroom instructors is at an all-time high in Texas, and losing our experienced and dedicated teachers to higher-paying districts would result in fewer educators and larger and potentially crowded class sizes. With approval of the School Funding Election, we can retain our quality teachers and continue offering the small class sizes that give our students the personal attention they need to thrive.
Expand in-demand academic, job training, college and career preparation programs & fine arts offerings.
The School Funding Election was designed to provide the revenue needed to continue and expand our academic and fine arts programs, extracurricular offerings, special education program, and student leadership opportunities. It will also allow us to grow our college preparation programs, including our partnerships with Texas A&M Commerce, Tyler Junior College, and UT Tyler.
Maintain current safety programs & provide for additional security measures.
When House Bill 3 passed in 2023, which required every campus to have an armed security guard, the Legislature only partially funded this mandate, leaving it to local taxpayers to cover the remaining costs. The School Funding Election will provide the revenue needed to help maintain current safety programs, implement additional security measures, and continue providing armed officers for all seven of our campuses.
